Introducing team Kolkata Diamonds for Match IPL

Match IPL is dated to make its debut tomorrow, November 17th 2017, Friday at Mumbai. This is a unique poker tournament geared at pulling the mind sport of poker out from its misunderstood shadows. The Match version of poker is owned and operated by Raj Kundra’s Viaan Industries Ltd in association with the Indian Federation of Match Poker.

The event organizers have been hard at work leaving no stones unturned to get the mind sport of poker recognized as a game of skill and not chance alone. They have even made an attractive advertisement with the apt hash tag campaign #PokerIsASport, which is the main aim of the event. They also have a tie-up with the popular TV channel MTV India which will be airing the live event. This is bound to help propagate the acceptance of poker as a sport based on skill amongst the public.

A total of 7 teams will be taking part in the event, which has been introduced previously in one of older posts. This time we will introduce you to the fully formed team from Kolkata, Kolkata Diamonds with the captain Anil Adiani (PokerMet Team Pro).

The team is owned by Sunny Karira and Deepak Keswan, two well-known poker people in kolkata who also own and operate The Park Street Privilege Club in Kolkata.

Sunny Kakira is an avid poker lover who has travelled 8 long years playing and fine-tuning his skills in the game. He was initially drawn towards the mind sport having inter-twined relationships with the high life! He greatly condones poker as a refined form of recreation and is in pursuit of understanding the finer nuances of the game while living a life of luxury through poker earnings!

The Match IPL event has long been headlining the online poker news in India circuit, with interesting developments. The official sponsors for the team Kolkata Diamonds are FTC Group and Santlieb’s. The team manager is Tanmay Chakraborty with the team captain being Anil Adiani who is famous for playing deep stack, nose bleed games. the team also has other notable poker figures like Shuchi Chamaria Agarwal (also PokerMet Team Pro), Pranay Bachhawat, Akhil Jain, Rohan Singh, Niwesh Sharma, Mukul Agarwal, Shammi Karira, Aditya Goenka and Jayjit Ray.
